Lucky you... today you can grab the new acapella to Spragga Benz's new tune "Star" to mess with on your own and maybe who knows......., something of a little gift from all of us. Better yet, you should go an download his whole album and support his music right about now and give thanks.
Murs one of our favorite artists / rappers / inspirer / performer / skater etc. Go out an buy his album "Murray's Revenge." The video from LA is a real look at the Digital Bombing neighborhood, peep the locals and you are tourguided by Murs... Pico, Wilshire, La Brea, Crenshaw. Who would have thought we're from the same block... Cloverdale crew. Return of Los Angeles is back... some things just have to be brought up and let known. Born and raised.... still representing till the day I die, words to live by.
More from Sick Jack and their record release of Sick Symphonies "Sickside Stories" at the El Rey in Los Angeles, right in our hood. If you have a minute, peep this clip, these guys are truly an independent crew of talented artists with a massive following.
The Guatemalan Monk Edwon turned us all on to the Psycho Realm and Sick Symphonies, also Street Platoon. Here is some vintage footage of Sick Jack on the Hip Hop Underground Flava Show from VHS tape. We have been fortunate enough to have Crow, Sick Jack and DJ FM in the office here at Digital Bombing and Freeburning Record Shop, chopping it up about the old school Los Angeles and how it was and how it is. Here Jack goes into the East side days back at East LA College, when they were called Chicano Pride. More footage to come, this is just little something for the Saturday morning.
One of our favorite video clips from the DJ Starscream in-store performance show at the Hollywood Virgin Mega Store on Sept. 16, 2006. As you can see from the crowd, there's a ton of excitement and energy over Sid Wilson's successful in-store coined by Virgin staff as, "The best in-store we've ever had to date." You'll see the honorary Reverend Sammy Sosa waiving out the baptismal rights... if you were there you are officially baptized by the New Leader... pick up Sid's album now at Best Buys, indie shops and major chain stores like Virgin.
Something new for the Digital Bombing Readers Today...
Milo from the Descendents... I mean from Sony
Something new for Digital Bombing will be tech and gadget updates for all of you 21st century types. We caught this cool little Sony Mylo WI-FI gadget that boasts a WI FI streaming MP3 player, wireless data transfer, Skype, Google talk, Yahoo messenger, fast thumb-keypad and web browser. It's a nice lil' handheld to run with if you need to keep up to date with your peeps and show off your pics of hot girls, new songs, and videos. Check this video and see how it works. Hope we get some of these in our in-box before the holidays!
Came across this videogame clip promo for Japanese game novel movie Kingdom Hearts ripped and overdubbed by some You Tube addicts that mixed in some harder side of sounds. But the whole mash out between MOP, anime, metal and hip hop brings out some lyrical reminiscence of the decade romp of the home team label N2O records (our sister company)..... last month sort of kicked off the 10 year celebration with N8LOC's birthday then last night with Down 4 Tha Cause in the LBC tore the roof off the spot. General Malice, RAW and N2O's new MC P.O.W. coming out front and center with the lyrical fire. Bust it up and bring it forth in the spirit of the Mash Out Posse. We met alot of new fans and organizers that had good things to say and positive energy to contribute. Holler if you want to be down. Look for more N2O Ten Years uplfitin' events this year and next, as we roll with the sound. (if you get a chance to pick up the album Mash Out Posse, it's got a whole album's worth of this metal rap mash up by MOP. Our homie and music industry heavy weight Cliff Cultreri A&R'ed it as well as the 4th HED PE album "Only in Amerika"... our thoughts are with you Cliff!)
Mashing up the analog and digital on a Sunday afternoon.... we post up some classic Cutty Ranks over a crackly Sleng Teng Dubplate from a while back, it's great to see some classic footage like this in this day in age. Cherish the old celebrate the new.... as we roll with the sound Digital Bombing back to our roots after shedding mounds of dead and tired useless expendable leaves. We pile them up with a rake and tediously by hand... Liberally squeeze lighter fluid to it and burn dem down to ashes to ashes, dust to dust.... shots we bust. Let's all welcome the new year and the holiday season... Bring love and strength on this sunday. Email us, we wanna keep in touch.... the Digital Bombing frequency is now an open and static free channel.
The homie Kilmore comes through our record shop and office to check in with the vinyl records and jungle hotness. You have to see this footage of him cutting it all up all over the place with Incubus. His set up is sick... 3 tables, keys and effects. He's real fluid and on point with the cuts. Alot of great times with Kilmore here at the Freeburnign Record Shop and on Melrose shootin' the afternoon up.... even working on tracks with DJ Starscream, and DJ Destroy one night up in the hills. Did anyone know he's a huge playa' of Xbox and has some real nice whips and race bikes. Booyakah! Look forward to catchin' a few tour dates this time around and getting some stage footage. What up Nel E Nel? Check in sometime...

It’s going down in the LBC so be on the look out for the Freeburning stand which we’ll be having the newest in N2O & Big Cat tunes. Hey it’s free,so call us up and we’ll give you the details on this before and after the party. You know we’ll have some ill footage too and DigitalBombing is the only site you’ll be able to witness how it all went down.
Be sure to pick up the latest Vapors mag (it’s available as a free download @ Vaporsmagazine.com) and check out a dope cover with the legend, Christian Hosoi. We were blessed to be a part of this issue and also have a featured article on N2O called “Supercharged and independent; Way of the hip hop warriors.” N8loc talks about the dojo ways and how N20 is about to celebrate our 10th anniversary of being original, revolutionary, independent and representing our underground movement. Also check out the article on our good homie Kevin Craft, who believed in us and made this happen. Kevin has recently moved to the yay and he is now a part of Riottt.com which is having one of the biggest festivals on Saturday, November 11th. With a lineup of consisting of many diverse acts. Check it out!
Sometimes being broke in college and not having cable TV forces you to watch shows that aren't that good but they eventually grow on you and become a cult following between you and your other broke friends. Seinfeld is one of those shows that grew on the whole staff here at one time or another in their lives. Often times you will here whole scenes being re-inacted during the day and everyone plays a part... "I've never been the bad boy"... "I need that marble rye"... "I don't know what that is"... "Cartwright party of 4"......mad funny in a goofy way. I think the staff favorite here is George Costanza. If you get a chance to hear him on Howard Stern's show, he says some real funny things about the cast of the Seinfeld show. Here is one classic scene that we repeat on occasion. Don't be surprised when you walk into buy records at our Melrose Ave. record shop when you hear someone shout out loud, "Is that so wrong?"
Our Revolution Continues.... Steven You Made Your Long Lasting Mark on a Whole Generation.
Election week brought a revolution, it good vibes our way and we are going to celebrate with one of the greatest videos ever made. Rage Against The Machine put it down with this song "Renegades of Funk." The first time I saw this video it put a huge smile on my face seeing one of my old school brother's Steven Murashige's name flash on the screen as the director on this video. We used to go to church summer camp way back in the day. He brought his skate deck and I brought my Kuwahara BMX. It's amazing to see your friends do what they do well and go big with it. Steven was one of my punk rock homies and from and early age, he was an amazingly talented artist of all sorts. I remember the time we went to see Youth Brigade, Agnostic Front, Corosion of Conformity and a few other BYO bands in Pasadena 1984, real west coast punk. He knew good music and good illustration... his spirit lives here at Digital Bombing.
Center of Energy, Ando from ABC's Heroes, and Miracles
It's a blessing to know that there are heroes and miracles in today's real world. Small miracles show their heads every so often and now we here at the Digital Bombing, Freeburning and N2O Records office are in the midst of one, we stay humble. On the topic of Heroes...we had one of TV's hottest co-stars come through our office... if you happen to watch the show on ABC TV Monday nights, you'll see Jason Kyson Lee playing Ando. He is in this clip with the crew cut after Hiro (glasses) saves the girl in the episode One Giant Leap. Jason Kyson Lee will also be starring in the movie "Akira's Hip Hop Shop" which will be filmed on location at our office. (You can peep the world famous Slick and Rygar pieced up interior of our office in the new issue #36 of Vapors on the stands now) The movie is about a Japanese guy that owns a hip hop record shop on Melrose Ave.... If you know us it sounds like true life doesn't it? Something to think about as you wonder how iconic places become the center of energy. Keep it positive, we're the real deal.
Since we are talking about a revolution we are seeing today, we should give praise to one of the first bands after the disco era to catch my attention and start a revolution... Devo! I would watch my older brother record Devo's audio onto cassette tape (before the VCR was invented) from a mono tape recorder from Saturday Night Live and Fridays. If you never heard of Fridays, it was a funny sketch show like SNL but on Friday on competing network ABC. We all know who won that rivalry by now. My dorky brother, who actually when I look back on it, was real cool cuz he exposed me to Devo and their super creative marketing campaign called De-Evolution! Yeah, this one wild looking and hard sounding live electronic band takes over the world with their music, coroprate anthems, mascot named Booji Boy, and the cool fucking uniforms with the red pyramid pothead hats. Genious work how they just took over the networks and all the late night tv shows, which were really cutting edge back then, not like today's toned down crappy Carson Daily show. I eventually stole my brother's portable tape recorder and got hooked on Devo and SNL by bringing it to 4th grade class and getting all my classmates hooked on it too. It didn't get me chicks but it did provide me with some covert steez at a young age. Later that year I accidentally taped over the SNL Devo tape when I got hooked on the song "Pinball Wizard" by The Who and plugged in a microphone and started belting out the lyrics to "Pinball Wizard" with the song playing on the radio in the background. (old school lo-tech karaoke) I got beat up for for doing that but it was a really funny tape. He actually played it for me and laughed really hard at it before he started punching me... kinda evil but funny too. Anyway, this song "Mongoloid" is a favorite song by the masters Devo from way back. Hard music from a band of revolutionaries.
Our President is in denial and the election has added pressure for major changes to be made in his own hand picked staff. Today Rumsfeld resigns and Democrats take over Washington. It's funny how Bush said today, "I still don't think Iraq has anything to do with the outcome of the election." Will we really see any cooperation in Washington? Or more just more political cock blocking and hating? Hopefully we'll see the better.
Just as we start to get tired of the internet along comes a way to see some of the best TV that graced our Sony Trinitrons and RCA color tv sets before there were remote controls. Yeah those days were fun playing ball till the sun went down and trying to do anything possible to avoid doing homework for us latch key kids. I still think the Latch Key Kids were ahead of our time because that's where today's innovators came from.... single parent families and no parental supervision after school. Who would have known that the only thing that would get me home after a good afternoon of playing baseball is a half hour TV show on the Japanese and Spanish network channel 52 called Raideen. This is about 1975, one year before the bi-centennial... remember that? I saw every episode so many times over and sang the intro song all night long. Shoots, I even picked up some of the original rare vinyl records on color vinyl with gatefold jackets in Tokyo in 2002. It's all about the lo-tech and analog..... aaaah yes, Top Ramen and Raideen, nothing but good times.
Back in the day when I was about 13 we used to go see bands like Toy Dolls, Youth Brigade, Minutemen, and Black Flag. Some were bad alot were great and there were alot of good kids looking for something anti Reagan much like today's anti Bush movement. Who would have known that several years later I'd be working closely with Greg Ginn and the SST Records / Black Flag empire working a great job right out of college. I still look back at being able to produce those limited series Black Flag skate decks.... funny how things work like that. Anyhow, here's a good vintage clip of Black Flag doing one of our favorite songs "White Minority" you can get it on the "Jealous Again" 10" vinyl pressing, still out there. Buy it and see the future.
Holmes... The Man the legend... Our Hero... The Rising Son!
Christian Hosoi, our Leader and Rising Son trailer
THE MAIN role model of the entire N2O and Digital Bombing movement from back in the day all the way to today! Yeah Hosoi rocks! It was a truly amazing day we had the opportunity to interview Hosoi in his last days in the Federal Prison on the phone before he was released. Big Ups to his movement, we support him 100%, we all have faith in him. See the movie... we had something to do with the title of the film. As DJ Product from HED PE stated... Hosoi named this movie after the demo cd of the interview and some of our songs we gave him a year ago with the handwritten words "To Christian - The Rising Son." Something to think about and build strength on. We still have the complete Andy Roy Black Flag series 5 FOCUS skate decks on our wall here at the Dojo. By the way, you can read about us in the new issue 36 of VAPORS magazine on stands now with Hosoi on the cover.... what a strange miracle there! Stay up Christian and Jennifer... congrats ont he new baby!
We were at this ESPN X Games event but didn't have a video cam.... of course leave it to someone on the net and You Tube to get us the footage! If you missed that double flip on TV, here it is to check out and say, "Man that's some crazy Sh*t!"
