Mo' Selection

The Freeburning shop is holdin it down as we blaze into the summer months with hardcore dancehall pressure! Heads as far away as Australia & Hawaii are givin the store props for selectin choice cuts and hard-to-find joints! One of the crowd favorites rite now is Vybez Kartel "All about Me" with its bounce and head-noddin factor. No guntalk here but much punanny killin vibe! And for anyone who follows island music, You know that 2005 has been the year for roots revival. As any seasoned DJ knows, after a rotation of hardcore dancehall beats, its nice to cool down the crowd with some danky roots tunes. Up in the dojo, one of our favorite tunes is "Magic City" by OG roughneck Buju Banton! Some of the monks are known to bump magic city while watchin the hip-hop honeys DVDs! (We versatile like that).

System Of A Down

2005 has been another big year for System of a Down. Last year, they sat down with another friend of ours, Rick Rubin (who also produced Slipknot's "Subliminal Verses"), and came up with a mammoth album. WIth a top 10 single"BYOB" on the radio and their current album, Mezmerize, reaching #1 on Billboard 2x this year... These cats are on fire like shish tavouk at Zankou. Mezmerize keeps System's furious creativity alive, incorporating the wild vocal melodies, lyrical passion and rabid structural shifts that had become their trademark. No question why members of the System family have dropped by the Freeburning record shop to stock up on the latest vinyl dj releases. I bet alot of yall didnt know they DJ'ed too. We got 2 video bombs from the System crew. A new video and a classic flashback.

Incubus

Looks like Incubus is hard at work again on another release... The dojo crate digger DJ Killmore gave us a heads up on this clip. The video premiered on our homies FUSE TV the other week and is already causing a buzz on the radio tip. The band managed to land 4 new tracks, including the lead single "Make A Move" on the upcoming "Stealth" Movie soundtrack! We heard they will be touring Europe in late August. As always doing big thangs... This will keep their hardcore fans over til the new album drops.

Audio1: Axel Braun of Jungle

Its Friday nite and everythin is poppin. Diggin thru the DB tape stack, we found this vintage footage of Bay Area N20 representative Audio1 choppin it up on a funky 19inch mixer!!! (try it sometime, not easy) In contrast to a lot of cats these days, Audio1 keeps it true to the streets by playin all-age parties in warehouses and basements all over the bay area. Other DJs be sweatin when Audio1 comes thru cuz they know they gonna get smoked by futuristic bboy skills and superior jungle tunage. Having grown up as a bboy and graff writer, he's also known to do some serious damage on the hip-hop tip... for info on booking and upcoming shows check his website, www.djaudio1.com. Its true what they say, turntablists do it better!

MURS meets The N20 All-Stars

ALERT ALERT ALERT** No, This aint no Tsunami warning but you might as well take cover as Charged N20 drops yet another masterpiece of a mashup... This time we hit you with the West Coast blow up from the Living Legends, Def Jux Records' best selling artist and partner in crime with Slug.... the worldwide MC that will knock your favorite rapper out... MURS! The newest member of the N2O roster gets a fully loaded mash up of his hit song HUSTLER. General Malice and the N2O All Stars flip it and blast it up with bass and bombs. My favorite lyric is "All the people casting shade on the classics that we made, say what you say we just asked to get paid and I might get laid if the remix gets played, throw this on the radio like 50 times a day!" This is the truth and fits MURS and N2O's history and testament from "Cracklab" to "Jungle Tools" to "Mathematical Chemistry" to "Murdah'n"... Did I mention it also has an N20 Allstars mashup of HED(pe) on the flipside? Definitely something to pick up to change the music from what is stale and old and tired like old stinking dirty dreads. Call 1-(323)-653-0032 or visit Freeburning Records and grab yours right now.

DJ SHIRO, M-M-Mashup!

Here at digitalbombing we roll with the illest DJs and artists in the world, and DJ Shiro is definitely @ the head of the pack! A straight origin-n8-tor, he rocks canvas, stencil, aerosol, and any other medium he can get his hands on. His newest project is the Vandals, next level urban action figures, each one *handmade* by Shiro! We rock Vandals in the Freeburning shop along with his vinyl audio assaults, Rollout rmx, Vulcan Death Grip, and a few others that aren't even released yet! Anyway, we could go on and on about his turntablist yoni massage skills, or his 2nd career as a tabla player, but suffice it to say Shiro is one bad muthafucka. Peep Shiro's latest junglist mash-up below, FIYAAAAAA!

Dancehall is blowin up these days, and Freeburning is @ the forefront of stockin hottest ish for your bashment needs. One of the hottest cuts right now is Sizzla's 'Dam Diggy'. I dunno what it is but Sizzla always gets the white girls open. Kinda ironic cuz he made that famous quote about 'burn all white people'! I dunno about that but this track definitely kills di pum-pum. DJ Killmore rocked the Roxy VIP lounge with this joint, I think they had to mop the floor @ the end of that party... skeet skeet skeet!
