2005 has been another big year for System of a Down. Last year, they sat down with another friend of ours, Rick Rubin (who also produced Slipknot's "Subliminal Verses"), and came up with a mammoth album. WIth a top 10 single"BYOB" on the radio and their current album, Mezmerize, reaching #1 on Billboard 2x this year... These cats are on fire like shish tavouk at Zankou. Mezmerize keeps System's furious creativity alive, incorporating the wild vocal melodies, lyrical passion and rabid structural shifts that had become their trademark. No question why members of the System family have dropped by the Freeburning record shop to stock up on the latest vinyl dj releases. I bet alot of yall didnt know they DJ'ed too.
