Member of the prolific turntablist crews Muzik Fiendz, Audible Objects, and Uneasy Alliance, one of N2O's most talented artists,... DJ Shiro, more than a DJ... soon to be a legend in the world of new style, what I can only describe as "DARK TEMPO." Since I had been slowly tuning out hip hop around 1996, Shiro has been one of the only artists to bring a new sound to this genre, but twisted, dark, brooding, and intelligently visionary sounds. His music has an indie rock feel but with a "soundtrack to life" element. These two tracks are from the forthcoming album "Fragments" - a collection of altered beats, instrumental songs, and fat new mind expanding sounds... Beside producing turntablism material he also has produced one of the most bangin' drum and bass remixes of 2001 the "Rollout Remix" on N2O Records. This cut had sick amens from Jungle Tools and key samples from the Transformers cartoon from way back when we was all kids (I myself was almost too old to be sitting in front of the tube, I was already a sex fiend by then). Oh and the record was on red vinyl too. And the original Rollout track was produced by DJ 3D, also on N2O Records U.S. But anyway... Here is something I know you haven't heard ever!. Just a small taste of what you get on the N8LOC's Analog Diaries #1 tape that we just released. The tape has the sickest turntablism ragga jungle set from R.A.W. that I have ever heard, seen, and witnessed! Also featured on the tape are DJ Shadow, Money Mark, and the Soundsmith recordings. But the main shit is the R.A.W. footage that no one can fuck with. I know if you are a fan of scratching jungle, then this is a must have rare tape for the collection. It was supposed to be the sequel to "Home Invasion" the cd for 2001 but it got scrapped for something new and even sicker! Also features the ragga scratch demo from 1997, when R.A.W., N8LOC and ODG set into San Francisco and told MF's what the fuck was up with jungle and turntablism! This one (on BMX grey vinyl) truly blurs the lines between punk and jungle genres and for the first time in history... some Ska / Rock Steady style drum and bass. AUDIO New shit

The new Freeburning Records U.S. label has been launched and the FBR 001 (see Operator & Limey in 2001 archives) and FBR 002 are now available at Freeburning Shop. FBR002 Natural Kauses "Last Breath" / "Pressure Point" soundclips are ready to peep. These cats (thanks Kause from Hawaii 808 crew for the intro) are brand new but the Freeburning crew are down to try them out and bring the drums and bass to the table and keep them amens free... burning that is. RAW got his copy already, so get yours. I tell you there are few US players that are down enough to put their loot where their mouth is and just increase the amount of good Drum&Bass in the states. Seems that the labels here stateside can't even get past their 001 releases in 2 years time. The UK masters are not too hype about the US commitment to the Jungle genre. Well there is a new birth of a label here and they have more stuff on the cutting lathe as we speak. So you won't see a lack of releases from this camp, we all see how Freeburning holds down the LA jungle vinyl and skate ramp styles.
